The old system of mailing originals is both expensive, and slow. Many documents are applied for, and transmitted to us, by email;
you apply through the court portal, pay their fee, have it processed
(and it becomes a sealed copy, having the court seal, or court stamp,
affixed). You then forward that PDF to [email protected] for service. This far more efficient, and timely.
Some
documents can be forwarded by email, such as Family Law, Divorce
applications, and some NCAT forms. Generally this is where the initial
application was made through the court portal, and PDF forms sent back.
These PDFs can be forwarded to us at the above email. Where the form is
something like an urgent family law custody matter and sending by mail
is impractical emailing those documents is also accepted.
The general process is contact us for a free quote so you know the cost,
then email, or post, documents to head office for distribution and service
(using Express Post, and passing the envelope over the counter is
recommended, if you must mail documents.
When passing over the counter you receive a tracking receipt). Attach a
cover letter (your instructions). For information about how to post, and
pay, go to Process Server Requirements.

We are called process servers, because we serve a court process, a
court document. Process serving is the serving of a court process,
usually a sealed document. A sealed document refers to a document that
has been processed by the court, and had the court seal, the court
stamp, applied. This signifies that the court is aware of the action,
and has generally assigned a court reference number, and a court date.
The court date is important, because that informs the process server of
the time frame for service.
